We are incredibly proud to share this short film, marking a milestone moment in Cancer United’s journey – the granting of outline planning consent for the land that will one day become our new home.
This moment represents far more than bricks and mortar. It is the result of years of perseverance, belief, and the collective determination of our community.
Since 2019, we have been searching for a permanent space that would allow Cancer United to grow sustainably and meet the increasing needs of people living with and beyond cancer. Along the way, there have been setbacks, disappointments, and moments when the goal felt just out of reach.
Thanks to an extraordinary act of generosity from the landowner, that goal is now firmly within sight. Our future centre will enable us to support many more people – offering specialist exercise, wellbeing support, education, and community connection in a space designed specifically for those affected by cancer. It will be a place of strength, recovery, and hope for generations to come.
