About Cancer United

Cancer United is a unique and forward-thinking cancer support charity dedicated to improving the lives of people living with and beyond cancer.

Founded on the belief that recovery extends far beyond medical treatment.

We focus on the vital role of exercise, particularly strength and conditioning, in prehabilitation, rehabilitation, and life after cancer.

Exercise is now widely recognised as an essential part of cancer care, and we champion this approach through our CUFITTER™® cancer-specific exercise programmes.

  • Prehabilitation: Strength and conditioning before treatment helping patients better tolerate surgery, chemotherapy, or radiotherapy. Improved fitness reduces complications and promotes faster recovery.
  • Rehabilitation: During and after treatment, many face fatigue, muscle loss, and reduced mobility. Our exercise programmes rebuild strength, improve balance, and restore confidence and independence.

Maintaining physical activity also helps reduce the risk of recurrence and improves long-term health outcomes.

We are proud to be a cancer community within the community. Alongside CUFITTER™®, our OUTSINGCANCER choir provides a joyful and therapeutic space where members can express themselves through music. Singing together has become a powerful form of emotional healing, therapy and connection.

Our support groups offer equally vital spaces for sharing, understanding, and encouragement. Whether through peer-led sessions, social meet-ups, or our specialist CULIFE BALANCE group for younger adults and new parents, these groups bring people together to talk openly, find reassurance, and feel understood.

"At Cancer United, every programme - from exercise to song — is united by one purpose: to help people regain strength, rebuild confidence, and rediscover joy in life after cancer."
