OUTSINGCANCER Music Workshop: A Regional Celebration of Choirs

Published: May 3, 2025

The second OUTSINGCANCER music workshop, in partnership with Making Music, brought together choirs from across the region in a powerful celebration of community and song.

Singers from diverse choral backgrounds—cancer choirs, community choirs, and specialist vocal groups—came together to share their passion for music, learn new techniques, and experience the joy of collective singing with OUTSINGCANCER’s Music Director the fabulous Andre da Silva.

A standout moment of the workshop came when Arun A Cappella delivered an impromptu performance of their signature barbershop harmonies, bringing the house down with their energy and precision.

This unexpected highlight perfectly captured the spirit of the event—unity, musical excellence, and the sheer joy of singing together. Led by expert facilitators, Cancer United’s founder Jan Sheward and Making Music’s Elizabeth Palmer, the session reinforced the transformative power of music, offering an uplifting and inspiring experience for all involved.
